We first met Diamond when she was living in a residential home for teen moms and was pregnant. She first went through our Leadership Program. When she was learning about how to be a leader in her own life, learning to journal, and creating a vision board, she expressed her desire to create and have a home for her daughter. She lost her mother at age 9 and never had a stable home. After she completed the Leadership program, she was referred to the Financial Wellness Program so that she could learn how to be fiscally responsible, budget, and prepare to have her own home. With the support of Foundation For Girls and having caring coaches in her life for the first time, a year and a half later, Diamond has a full-time security job and is living in her own apartment with her 11-month old daughter Rylin.

Diamond has an incredible amount of resolve and confidence through her journey from dependence to independence. She is an incredible person who takes strides daily to improve the life of her and her daughter. She has learned to make her past and life experiences her catalyst not her hindrance. She embraces life learning to grow and building relationships along her journey.

Diamond’s Quote:

Hello, My name is Diamond and I'm a current resident of Charlotte, NC. In summer of 2017, during her summer break, I met Shreya Mantha founder of Foundation For Girls. Shreya is a altruistic and constructive women and FFG has helped many girls throughout the North Carolinas including myself. I've acquired life participating skills from their programs including Health and Well-Being, Self-Awareness and Financial Literacy. They have good coaches who have daughters and know how to work with girls.

Growing up I didn't experience stable living arrangements, my dream is to own my own home to make sure my daughter doesn't have to go through my same phase so the Financial Literacy programmed with helping me plan and budget and steps it takes to being a home owner. I currently reside in my own apartment home with my 9 month old daughter and if it wasn't for the resources and information that FFG provided I'm not sure how I could've done this alone. Shreya’s  FFG is an empowering and kind foundation serving the youth and changing lives .

I never hesitate to reach back out if I need help or guidance. I know they want to help and there is always someone I can simple text, call or email and they always reach back out. Shreya and FFG builds relationships.
