Access To Opportunities | Caring Coaches | Scaffolding For Success

Foundation For Girls is a youth-led social venture that endeavors to change the life trajectory for at-risk girls and youth in the greater Charlotte area through programs in financial well-being, leadership, digital literacy, and health and well-being.

We believe that “Better is Possible” when we help vulnerable girls and youth feel confident, courageous, and ready to take charge of their lives. Our hands-on programming aims to boost self-confidence and provide education in financial well-being, digital literacy, health and well-being, and personal leadership development — providing youth with the necessary tools in their journey to transition from dependence to independence and create pathways to economic opportunities.

We partner with established community organizations to reach the girls and youth where they already are: in shelters, safe homes, rescue and rehab facilities, schools, community centers, and crisis centers. We currently work with homeless, trafficking survivors, refugees, domestic violence victims, foster care victims, and teen moms. We believe their past does not define them. We focus on giving them access to opportunities, caring coaches, and scaffolding for personal and professional success. Through the collective effort of our coaches, volunteers, community and corporate partners, we are truly changing the outcome for vulnerable girls and youth in Charlotte. Our goal is to reach 2,600 youth by 2020 and enable economic opportunity placement for them. By the end of March 2018, we have reached 1,378 girls and youth since our inception in December 2014 while conducting 245 workshops and logging over 5,008 hours of engagement.
